Michael and I watched an episode of the Golden Girls last night. Hush. It was apparently the pilot episode, which featured a man servant (that was thankfully taken out of the actual series) named CoCo. We've been texting back and forth today about the demise of Coco. They've made me giggle...

J: Good decision on the producers part to axe the limp wrist.

M: And to think he had aspirations of a spinoff...

J: Hahah. What that could have been like...

M: Coco's Cabana: Co sees pontential in a fledgling Miami juice bar and convinces Blanche, who regularly cameos, to loan him the dough to ultimately open on of the most hoppin
discotecques in the city

J: Aptly named "Coco CaBlancha"

M: But be careful what you wish for , Coco. Been working a lot after work at my freelance job, Red Jet films. Each week I'm continually asked to come in more and more, which is definitely a good thing. I feel like I'm learning so much whilst getting paid for it. Nice. I do a lot of digitizing, sequence setting up, logging...pretty basic "get your foot in the door" type of work. It's also fun cause it's right next door to Solo (boyfriend's bar) so I can hop in for a quick howdy-doo or a post work libation.

Last Saturday, I flew down to Eugene (yes FLEW Only took 45 minutes vs 5 hr drive) for my nieces 1'st birthday party. What a blast. It was luau themed. She of course was adorable and stole the show. I think my run as funny guy/showboat of the family is coming to an end. Damn babies!! I'll post some pics as soon as I can find what I did with the cords (fun camera Chriso!! So many interesting settings.)

Tuesday went and saw Michael play at the Tractor Tavern (also post photos later.) His band is really good and he's a very talented singer/guitarist. Not being biased.

This weekend I really need to get some cleaning done around my house. More like spring cleaning. I have so much shizz piling up in my bedroom closest that it makes me tired just thinking about it. I'm thinking maybe a little virtual sale is in order. I dunno.

I don't know if I mentioned, but the boy and I booked a trip to NYC in late June. So excited! We've added a couple days to the trip, for a total of 8. We scored tickets to the Pearl Jam concert at Madison Square Garden. Should be fun. So many friends will be in the city too at the same time so it will be a trip not to be forgotten!

In baking news, there hasn't been much of it sadly. I feel like I'm either at work, at RedJet, hanging with Michael or sleeping. Busy. I need to get back on it though.

Also decided that 30th birthday trip 09 will lead me back to Buenos Aires. JOY! Michael and I are sorta figuring out the deets so that proper money is saved. I'm really excited and cannot wait. I know I've been before but I feel like there is so much I've yet to see. Knowing that I'll be sitting in a cafe in San Telmo come March....I cannot even tell you. Yum. This also means awesome morning brekkys at HomeHotel, which includes the amazing OrangeSaffron juice. Gulp!

I really need to get some new music in my blood. I feel like I'm listening to the same stuff over and over again. Any suggestions?

xoj
ps. it also makes me sad when i see co-workers bring lean cuisine's and other like heat up lunches to work, everyday. it's so easy to make your own food! that packaged/frozen taste just doesn't seem right on a daily basis.

i think a really cool idea would be to start a business selling really great, easy to make foods that are all natural, like mom used to make and maybe some a little more gourmet.
without the freezer burn taste and at a good price. i know there are a million biz's like that out there today but we need one good one!

    <lj:music>Grandaddy - Jeez Louise</lj:music>

Hello all!

So I'd like to ask your advice/suggestions. I'm test-catering a small gathering tomorrow night. I say test-catering cause the guests are bringing food as well, they simply want to try out some dishes I make to potentially use me for future functions. Phew! That took a little of the pressure off, but not much.

I've come up with a list of things from my notes and I'm curious what I should put on the final "menu" of appetizers. I'm also whipping up a couple batches of small cupcakes for good measure.
View Poll: #1135408

Again, these are things/recipes I've been collecting over the years. I'm still doing some research. This is all so exciting. I love delving into the food world and finding new combos and old favorites!
